Service for Olive Marie McDonald, 96, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Mark Ely will officiate. Private family interment will follow.
Pallbearers will be James McDonald, Todd Mullen, Sean McDonald, Paul Holden, Ty Mullen, Kerry McDonald, Dan Mullen, and Don Kirtley.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Olive Marie McDonald passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Ft. Worth. She was born July 15, 1918 in Johnson County to Fielding and Mary Ellen Guiher Kirtley. She married Paul Fred McDonald on August 7, 1936 in Cleburne and they celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2001 before he preceded her in death on May 3, 2002.
Mrs. McDonald grew up in the Cleburne area and graduated from Cleburne High School. She owned and operated a Nursery in Cleburne for thirty years, where she enjoyed her love for plants and flowers with her customers. She was a member of the Johnson County Home Extension for more than 50 years and the Green Thumb Garden Club for a number of years, where she won many awards and ribbons for her arrangements. Mrs. McDonald was also a long time member of College Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Gwyn Nell Holden and husband Brown of Whitney and Paulette Mullen and husband Dan of Cleburne; son, Kenneth McDonald of Granbury; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
