Otis Larry Gorman, 65, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 in Ft. Worth. He was born February 4, 1948 in Ft. Worth to Elvis and Virginia Hay Gorman. He married Catherene Cornelison on April 29, 1967 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Gorman worked in masonry construction. He was a longtime member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. Beginning in 1996 Mr. Gorman and other descendents of Confederate veterans did a great amount of work to restore, clean and replace Confederate grave markers throughout Johnson County. He was also a drag racing enthusiast and briefly held a world record. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife Cathy Gorman; mother-in-law, Mary Cornelison; sons, Larry Gorman and wife Tammy and Scott Gorman and wife Patty; grandchildren, Megan and Rachel Gorman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Meredith, David and Joe Gorman; sister-in-law, Loretta Gorman; and lifelong friend, Tommy Craig.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his church family.
At his request Mr. Gorman was cremated. Private memorial services for immediate family will held at a later date.
