O.V. Collins

Services for O.V. Collins, 92, of Kopperl, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Larry York will officiate. Burial will be in Kimbell Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.

O.V. Collins passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009 in Cleburne. He was born February 27, 1917 in Bosque County to Samuel Lewis and Pearly Hannah Collins. He married Dorris Faye Stafford on February 11, 1949 in Cleburne.

Mr. Collins was a Staff Sargeant in the US Army during WWII and a stationary engineer for Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Rio Vista.

O.V. Collins is survived by his sons, William Gregory Collins of Groesbeck and Bobby Dan Collins and wife, Kathy of Kopperl; daughter, Judy Faye Barnett and husband, Dale of Cleburne; seven grandchildren, Lisa Jones, John Carlock, Emily Graham, Cristin Balderas, Corrin Collins, Chance Collins and Taylor Collins and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorris Faye Collins; two brothers, Calvin Collins and L.O. Collins and two sisters, Beatrice Osborne and Oleta Bachoffer.
