Patrick "Pat" Wayne Smith, 61, of Conway, AR passed from this life Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was born April 27, 1949 in San Antonio, TX to the late Peter Belokur and Patricia Swenson. He believed that his greatest achievement was his family. Pat was preceded in death by his stepfather, Herbert Smith; and brother, Steven Smith. Pat is survived by his wife of more than 41 years Ginger Smith of Conway, AR; a son, Michael Smith and wife Marnie of Burleson, TX; a daughter, Samantha Smith and fiancé Josh Clayton of Conway, AR; four grandchildren, Hannah Smith, Madison Smith, Hunter Smith and Carter Clayton; two sisters, Cindy Bradley and husband Jack of Natalia, TX, Angie Koehler and husband Jimmy of Natalia, TX; two brothers, Sam Smith and wife Trudy of Natalia, TX, Jimmy Smith of Tennessee Colony, TX; mother-in-law, Edna "Gannie" Jackson of Cleburne, TX; two brother-in-laws, Ray Jackson and wife Becky of Cleburne, TX, Len Jackson and wife LaRita of Cleburne, TX along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
After 32 years of service, Pat retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a manager of Locomotive Maintenance. Pat was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Conway, AR.
Pat loved fly fishing, golf and spending time with his family.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010, 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Cleburne, TX with interment to follow at Cleburne Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Friends to Friends Network, 303 Pickwicket, Conway, AR 72032.
