Pat Starnes passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015 in Ft. Worth. She was born Nov. 23, 1928 in Estelline, TX to Willis Walter and Mineola James Tucker. Pat was raised and attended school in Cleburne where she met and later married Billy Starnes on Feb. 18, 1950 in Baytown and he preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2009.
Pat Starnes lived a life centered on family; her husband of 59 years, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and most recently, her great-great grandchildren. She was happiest when hosting or attending family get-togethers. She had an unwavering love for the Lord and considered salvation through Christ her greatest gift.
When her nest was empty, she earned a license in cosmetology and purchased the Merle Norman Studio in Cleburne. She owned and operated it until 1981 when she sold it to follow her husband into the ministry. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church in Cleburne.
Pat will be missed, but it’s comforting to know she was not afraid to leave this life to spend eternity with her Lord, and to be reunited with the love of her life, Billy.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Haynes and husband Bob of Hurst; son, Rick Starnes of Cleburne; grandchildren, Lisa Aten and husband Scott, Shani Grant and husband Burt, Riche Stanley, Rhett Haynes and wife Val, Chris Starnes and wife Cresta, Scott Starnes and wife Cheyenne, and Jeff Starnes and wife Liz; great grandchildren, Lindsay Washburn and husband Bill, Kelsay Aten , Curt Master, Ethan Starnes, Jay Lin Starnes, Mine Starnes, Mae Starnes, Peam Starnes, Poom Starnes, Carter Haynes, and Brook Haynes; great-great grandchildren, Kanyn Washburn and Bryceson Mayberry; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and eight sisters.
