Patricia "Patsy" "Pat" was born December 31, 1939 in Clovis, New Mexico to Arthur Edward and Hazel Louise Collins Harrison. She was raised in the Baptist faith. Patsy peacefully passed Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in Keene, Tx. Her husband, sons and daughter were at her bedside when she succumbed from her long fight against Dementia.

Patsy was the 5th of 7 children and for 12 years, she lived close to her extended family on the family dairy in New Mexico. At the age of 12, she and her immediate family relocated to Texas. The family purchased 80 acres and continued running the family dairy.

In her teens she met James Henry Sessums, and they married 6 months later on March 21, 1956 in Cleburne, TX. The couple welcomed their 1st son in January 1957, then a daughter in September 1958 and then another son in January 1961. The family of 5 lived in multiple rental properties with James working 2 jobs at a time and Patsy tending to their home, children and cutting grocery coupons to make finances stretch. Once a week she got to use their only car to drag 3 small young children from store to store and then to the washateria.

In 1970, the couple welcomed their 4th child, another boy. Patsy's husband got a job with the USPS and in 1971 the family moved to Burleson, TX. They bought a house and a 2nd car. Patricia got her GED, and a job with Gearhart Owen for a brief period. Then she changed jobs and started working for the United States Postal Service as a rural route carrier. She worked there till she retired.

The next phase of life began in 1979, when Pat and James welcomed their 1st grandchild, followed by 7 more till 2000 then began the arrival of the 1st great-grandchild in 1998 to finish up with number 8 in 2019.

Upon retiring, she spent time raising chickens, guineas and spoiling her pets. She also enjoyed an eclectic taste in music from Sam Cooke, The Beatles, Queen, Stevie Ray Vaughan to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Plus, watching soap operas and The Rockford Files. But the things that brought her the most joy were attending family reunions, traveling with her sister, Zona & her husband George doing Genealogy, telling long elaborate stories and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patsy will be greatly missed by those who enjoyed her company and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James H. Sessums of Burleson; children, James H. Sessums, Jr. of Burleson, Connie “Ilene” Sessums Pope and husband, Rusty of Burleson, Jerry W. Sessums and wife, Sherri of Cleburne, and Jason E. Sessums and wife, Ida of Burleson; brothers, William “Austin” Harrison of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Arthur E.
