Patrick Joseph Fahey, 70, of Glen Rose, Texas, went home to the Lord on February 13, 2025. Born on July 28, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia, Patrick led a fulfilling life characterized by devotion to his family and community, and public service. As a loving husband and father, Patrick was known for his big heart, vibrant personality, and unique sense of humor.
Patrick was a member of the class of 1972 of St. John Vianney Prep Seminary High School in Richmond, Virginia, and briefly attended St. Meinard Seminary and School of Theology before choosing a career in law enforcement. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern University (Armstrong) with a degree in criminal justice.
Patrick was a dedicated law enforcement officer for over thirty years before his retirement in 2008. He honorably served more than 20 years as a Special Agent with the United States Customs Service and later, with Homeland Security Investigations (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement). His career also included roles with the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division (White House Police), Diplomatic Security Service (U.S. Department of State), Savannah Police Department, and Chatham County (GA) Police Department. His commitment to his work and the safety of others touched many lives.
As a Catholic and member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, Patrick’s faith was an important part of his life. In retirement, Patrick enjoyed spending time with his family and his cherished dogs (Kinsloe, Andie, and Mully), playing poker, and feeding the deer on his “ranchita del Cielo.”
In memory of Patrick, we celebrate his legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering service to the community.
Patrick is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Laura (Frey) Fahey; his beloved daughter Shannon Fahey; his father-in-law Richard Frey; his brothers-in-law Keith Frey and Dale Frey; sisters-in-law Sarah Vincent Fahey and Laurie Fahey; nephews Brian Fahey (wife Jennifer), Michael Fahey, Steven Frey; and nieces Stephanie Frey (husband Mitchell), and Mary Kate Fahey Johnson (husband Brad); as well as several great nephews and nieces.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Joseph Fahey, Sr. and Martha Ann Fahey; his brothers, Edward Joseph Fahey, Jr. and Christopher Fahey; and his mother-in-law Joann Frey.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request a donation in remembrance be made to the Humane Society of North Texas in Fort Worth ( www.hsnt.org ) or the Church of the Holy Comforter in Cleburne ( www.holycomfortercleburne.org ).
