Patsy Wynn Cox passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 surrounded by her family. Patsy was born June 20, 1947 to Andy and Bonnie (Gatlin) Poteet in Cleburne, Texas. Patsy was a life-long resident of Grandview, Texas where she worked as a secretary for the school and taught piano lessons at Vicki Lynn’s Music.
Patsy married Ronnie Wynn on June 20, 1967 and had 3 children, Rhonda, Amy, and Bubba. Patsy spent this time raising her children, volunteering for school functions, baby-sitting and perfecting the art of making chocolate chip cookies which made her a local celebrity.
After Ronnie’s passing in 1991, Patsy was lucky enough to find love again in Kenneth Cox. They shared 25 years together raising grandchildren, volunteering at church, and enjoying life together. In May of last year, both Kenneth and Patsy were diagnosed with recurrent cancers. Unfortunately, Kenneth lost his battle to cancer in February of this year. Patsy bravely struggled to fight with all the courage, strength and grace that even she didn’t know she had. Her faith in Christ never wavered. She finished the race well.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Dowling, Amy Quisenberry and husband Brad, and Tammy Cox; son, Ronnie Wynn II and wife Amy; grandchildren, Lane Dowling, Jarod Dowling, Morgan Quisenberry, Cooper Quisenberry, Maddie Wynn, Garret Wynn, Austin Barna, Riley Webber; Sisters, Shirley Williams and husband Johnny and Vicki Nichols and husband Nick; brothers, Don Poteet and Tommie Poteet; brother-in-law Keith Cox and wife Lee, sisters-in-law Dolores Cox. Mona Cox, Pat Hutchins, June Monroe and Debbie Fox; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Cox, husband Ronnie Wynn, and her parents.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Patsy’s honor to Sand Flat Baptist Church Life Center. In honor of Patsy, the family is requesting those attending the service to wear black, white or pink.
