Memorial services for Patsy Ann "Pat" Phinney, 84, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 17, 2011 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Reverend John Glover officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local veterans or American Indian organization of the giver's choice.
Mrs. Phinney passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in Cleburne. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. O.A. Riggs on February 12, 1927 in Burnett, Texas. She married Clarence E. Phinney on December 7, 1946 in Burnett. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school for many years. Pat owned and operated a dog grooming business out of her home from 1970-2005. She never spoke a harsh word about others, only the positive. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Pat was an avid reader, especially books about history and geography. Her giving spirit and uplifting nature will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Nancy Young and Loney Hughes.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Clarence E. Phinney; children and their spouses, Rebecca S. Martin and Eldon, Wayne E. Phinney and Gwen, Douglas E. Phinney, and Linda Conover and Mike; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Woodard; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
