Patsy Thurston

Service for Patsy King Thurston, 83, of Covington, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 4, 2024 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Interment will follow in Covington Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the funeral home.

Patsy passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023 in Keene. She was born September 16, 1940, in Cleburne to Albert Elton and Ina John (McCall) King. Patsy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne and attended the Golden Agers Senior Ministry. She married Ted Thurston on November 21, 1958 in Covington. They were married for 63 years before his passing on September 15, 2022. She was a bookkeeper for First National Bank in Cleburne and later worked in Gainesville for Merck Insurance and Gainesville National Bank. Patsy was outgoing and loved life. She showed her love for others through cooking and entertaining. Patsy enjoyed the outdoors, going camping, hiking, jeep trails and spending time in Colorado. She took great pride in taking care of her family, homes, and farm. Patsy was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Covington Lodge. She will be missed greatly by all that knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Ronda Hogan; grandson, Mason Sweeney; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Patsy was preceded by her parents and husband.
