Service for Pauline “Polly” Gordon, 98, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Mark Ely and the Reverend Rusty Gilliam will officiate. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex Pritchard, Tommy Butler, Robert Morris, Paul Green, Will Robinson, and Perry Gerbine. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Pauline “Polly” Gordon passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Dec. 18, 1917 in Hill County to Robert L. and Mary Bilton Curlee. She married Harrison Gilliam on Oct. 30, 1936. They had three sons and he preceded her in death on July 16, 1959.
Ms. Gordon was employed at Roof Drug and later finished out her career at the Cleburne City Tax Department. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and was very active in her “Life Line” Sunday School Class. She was also a 60 year member of West Liberty Home Extension Club. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends who loved her spirited personality.
Survivors include her three sons, Burl Gilliam and wife Kay of Grapevine, Horace Gilliam of Cleburne and Winston Gilliam and wife Paula of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Lance Gilliam of Plano, Laura Self of Grapevine, Gary Gilliam of Cleburne, Rusty Gilliam and wife Debra of Burleson, Amy Ferguson and husband Billy of Weatherford, and Joel Gilliam of Katy; four great grandchildren, Sierra Self, Drew Ferguson, Ben Ferguson, and Xiomara Gilliam; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
