Service for “Pecos” W.H. Martin, 70, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Martin, Rusty Buckner, Henry Reasoner, Lonnie Ray Gossett, John Dee Sledge, and Travis Zeller. Honorary pallbearers will be all past and present employees. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
“Pecos” W.H. Martin passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017 in Fort Worth. He was born July 22, 1946 in Cleburne to John Weldon and Mary Jane Hardin Martin. He married Jeanne Kaye Pierce on April 5, 1968 in Cleburne.
Pecos was a service/general manager for 37 years at Cleburne Ford and was owner and operator of Mago in Cleburne. He loved working and also spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleburne.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Jeanne Martin of Cleburne; children, Wendi Martin of Burleson and Misti Martin of Cleburne; brothers, John Weldon Martin Jr. and wife Mary Margaret of Arlington and Russell Buckner of Austin; sister-in-law, Jessica Gossett and husband Lonnie of Cleburne; Niece, Gynger Gossett of Cleburne; nephews, Lonnie Ray Gossett of Cleburne and Coty Pierce of Kentucky; beloved pets, KK and Knox, and shop cat, Toonces; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Irwin R. Buckner.
