Peggy Lawrence

Memorial Services for Peggy Lawrence, 68, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Rev. Sally A. Fleming will officiate.

Peggy Lawrence passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Ft. Worth. She was born July 19, 1938 in Conehatta, Mississippi to Clarence and Nan Williams Carson.

Ms. Lawrence worked as a news reporter for the Chicago Tribune, L.A. Times and Cleburne Times Review. She was a member of the Ruth Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and the Moose Lodge in Merritt Island, FL. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Peggy Lawrence is survived by her daughter, Cara Hayes of Cleburne; son, John Lawrence of Houston; sister, Bettye Blackburne Hatcher and husband, Neal of Cleburne; grandchildren, Taylor and Hunter Hayes of Cleburne; sister-in-laws, Iris Carson of Oceanside, CA, Corinth Carson of Conehatta, MS, Betty Carson of Myrtle Creek, OR; special cousin, Mary Johnson of Kannapolis, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brother, Ben, Roger, Joe, Pat and Charles; and sister, Anna.
