Service for Phillip E. “Phil” Teske, 80, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the Greenacres Mausoleum Chapel with entombment following. The Reverend Danny Rogers will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cleburne Firefighters Association, Local 170, 114 W. Wardville, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
Phillip E. “Phil” Teske passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Fort Worth. He was born August 13, 1934 in Perham Village, Minnesota to Ervin and Delia E. Lien Teske. He married Linda C. Wright on June 29, 1989 in Cleburne. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
Mr. Teske began his military career with the United States Navy and then retired from the United States Air Force after serving an additional 21 years as Staff Sergeant with his main focus being (AP) Military Police. He was very proud of serving many overseas campaigns, including Vietnam. Phil went on to retire from both CP Pinkerton Security in Fort Worth and Venus Prisons. After retirements, he worked with Toys-R-Us and later with Wal-Mart, where he played Santa Claus for several years. He was known for being Santa for several local area churches and businesses. Phil enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, watching old westerns and snacking in his spare time. It has been said that Phil was a loyal, honest and straight forward man who loved to tease and debate with those around him. His independent spirit and great character will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Loyd and Bennie Wright; and sister-in-law, Darla Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Teske; beloved dog, Rudy Angel Teske; cousins, Mabelle Smith and Beverly Jacobson; nephew, David Woodard; nieces, Penny McDaniel, Kim Mears and Cindy Curlee; great nephews, Kason Mears, Jonathan and Jacob Curlee; great nieces, Cari and Reagan; brothers-in-law, Howard Wright and wife Sharon and Waymon Wright and wife Belinda; sister-in-law, Deborah Woodard and husband Charlie and a host of other relatives and friends.
