Services for Phillip James Watson, 86, of Walnut Springs, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Danny Holliday will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Phillip Watson, Cory Watson, Tommy Watson, Ronny Watson, Bobby Mitchell and Tommy Mitchell.
Phillip Watson passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Glen Rose, TX. He was born August 8, 1921 in Hill County, TX to Phillip Frederick and Martha Louetta Roberts Watson. He married Betty Jo Bourland on September 23, 1994 in Cleburne.
Mr. Watson retired from the Texas Highway Department in Cleburne. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Phillip Watson is survived by his wife, Betty Watson of Walnut Springs; sons, Fred Watson and wife, Valerie, of Cleburne and Billy Watson and wife, Jean of Quitman, TX ; daughter, Phyllis Nichols and husband, Bob of Handley, TX ; step-children, Jimmy Mitchell and wife, Connie, Betty Ann Fowler and husband, Earnest, Dorothy Speer and husband, Tommy, Carolyn Speer and husband T.C., Linda Jones and husband, George, Jerry Mitchell and wife, Janet, Brenda Collins and husband, Mike, Tommy Mitchell and wife, Sherry, Bobby Mitchell and wife, Sherry, Judy Kirby and husband, Doug, Janie Mitchell and Tracy Elliston; brother, O.P. Watson and wife, Jean of Blum and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Willie Bell; daughter, Elaine; two brothers and three sisters.
