Rachel Robinette

Rachel Mae Taylor Robinette was born on December 20, 1935 to Lawrence E. (L.E.) and Esther Grenze Taylor in Thornfield, Missouri and passed away on February 21, 2021 in Cleburne, Texas. The family moved to Keene, Texas in 1942 to enable the children to go to Adventist schools. She attended school in Keene and finished her nursing degree at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska after doing her internship in nursing at Porter Sanitarium in both Boulder and Denver, Colorado . She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Most of her career was spent helping to deliver babies at Cleburne Hospital(s) and Huguley Hospital. She married Jack Robinette on November 30, 1958 in Evans Hall, Keene, Texas. Their three children, whom they were immensely proud of and dearly loved, grew to include more to love. She especially enjoyed sharing pictures and stories of them. Their children are son Bob and Angela (Bicek) Robinette and their daughters Katelyn and Claire Robinette of Garland, Texas, daughter Janice and David Bannister and their children Kathryn and James of Courtice, Ontario, Canada, and daughter Pam and J.C. Roney (Sturgeon, Missouri) and their children John (College Place, Washington), Jacob (Sturgeon, Missouri) and Jessyca and her husband Richard Crew along with her two great grandchildren, Colton and Caileigh Crew of Salmon, Idaho. Rachel loved spending time with her brothers, Wesley and Delbert Taylor (both of Keene, Texas) and their families along with many other family members and friends. She was an avid gardener of flowers, fruits and vegetables which she delighted in both growing and sharing with others. She was always cooking and baking for large gatherings of family and friends and taught her kids to cook and host as well. She made more food than her family could eat on Friday so there was plenty for whoever was at church to invite home or for potluck. She and Jack instilled a love for nature in all their kids by including frequent hikes, canoe trips and vacations in God’s great outdoors. She broadened her children's lives with books, vacations, and season tickets to the college's lyceums and humanities series of concerts and programs. Attending church was such a highlight of her week, she often went to two church services. She was always concerned about the welfare of others especially those she loved and did what she could to help them. She is resting in Jesus to await her reunions with family and friends.
