Services for Ralph Douglas Bowers, 79, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 26, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Steve Durbin officiated. Burial will be in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ian Bowers, Taylor Bowers, Matthew Baker, Eric Baker, Steven Baker, Trey Grundy, Rodney Rowlett and Lee Roy Rowlett.
Ralph Douglas Bowers passed away Friday, July 23, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born Aug. 22, 1930 in Cleburne to Alford Taylor and Dewey Manilla Carter Bowers. He married Bessie Ruth McDonald in Cleburne. He was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church and was a conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad. Mr. Bowers was a longtime member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had been sober since April 22, 1960.
Mr. Bowers is survived by his wife, Bessie Bowers of Cleburne; sons, Mitchell G. Bowers and wife Cynthia, Paul Baker, Waymon Baker and wife Marilyn and daughter, Johnnie R. Baker all of Cleburne; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sons, Greg D. Bowers and Matthew Taylor Bowers.
