Ralph Malcolm DeLaune, 84, passed away in Godley on December 14, 2011.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 17, 2011 in the Keene Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Ralph was born the second boy of twins to G.K. and Ruth DeLaune in Highlands, TX on May 14, 1927. Growing up in a large family was very eventful, there were lots of friends and parties. Ralph possessed a sense of humor. He and his identical twin would switch places trying to fool everyone. After following his parents to Keene, he worked as a specialty cabinet builder for Brandom Mfg. Co., drove a truck, laid sewer lines and helped the Keene police chief. Camping was his favorite hobby. On May 22, 1959 he married Clara (Bell) King. They resided in Keene for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Clara DeLaune of Godley; sons, Tom King and wife Sheila of Washington and Doug DeLaune of Nebraska; daughters, Deb King Dandridge and husband Mark, Amy Mears and husband Tony of Cleburne and Gina DeLaune of Godley; sisters, Ada Birdwell and husband Joe of Henderson and Doris Roberts of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Wanda, Bettie and Donna DeLaune; eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many other nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Craig DeLaune and Donald King; brothers, Jack, Bill, Robert, David, Jere, Donald and Douglas; sisters, Oma Tillet, Frances Hard and Sally Chapline and grandsons, Ben and Micah.
