Ray Baker

Services for Ray D. Baker, 70, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Jerry Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Squaw Creek Cemetery in Glen Rose.

Ray died peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in Fort Worth. He was born September 27, 1940 in Groesbeck, Texas to L. D. and Annie Laura Redding Baker and was raised in Goatneck. He married Judy Kay Smith on October 22, 1961 in Joshua.

Ray was a devoted husband and father who gave us a deep respect for family and taught us the value of working hard and playing just as hard. He was self employed in the farm industry and owner of Baker Implement Company. He enjoyed fishing and playing 42. He will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 49 years; children, Teresa, Ray Jr. and Bret; niece Stacy; six grandchildren and many loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the diabetes and cancer research of your choosing as a memorial.
