Service for Raymond E. Green, 82, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, Mar. 31, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Chaplain Theo Stewart will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1-2:00 P.M., Thursday, prior to the service.
Raymond Green age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday
March 27, 2016. Ray was born in Anna, Ill. On March 4, 1934 to Waldo Green and Opal
Horton Green. He grew up in South Texas and he served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years which included a tour of duty on the USS Grampus submarine. Ray enjoyed sharing stories of submarine life and his time in the Navy.
Ray married the love of his life Joan Elizabeth Cummings on October 29, 1958 in Reading Mass.
Shortly after they moved to San Antonio, Texas and thereafter Panhandle, Texas in 1965.
He worked for Mason and Hanger until his retirement in 1991 and moved to Lake Brownwood
and started his second career as a full time fisherman and Grandpa. Ray and Joan loved to entertain their friends and family at the lake and enjoy the beauty of their retirement home.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Opal Green and wife, Joan Green.
Survivors include: Daughters, Tammy Collier of Cleburne, Susan Belcher (Jeff) of Colleyville,
Son, Scott Green of Katy, Sisters, Peggy Tope of Floresville, Cecelia Jendrusch (Fabian) of Falls
City, Grandchildren, Megan, Brian, Calley, Brett; and many special friends and family.
