Raymond Tubbs

Service for Raymond Tubbs Sr., 90, of Blum will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 30, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Joshua James McLeod will officiate. Burial will be in Blum Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Watson, Chuck Davis, Sherman Haggerton, Darrell Bullard, Mark Scott, and Mark Brandenberger. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

Raymond Tubbs Sr. passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Blum. He was born July 18, 1924 in Belton to William James and Lydia Ann Jackson Tubbs. He married Glenda Garner on July 14, 1975 in Glen Rose.

Mr. Tubbs served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked at Santa Fe Railroad for 10 years as a sheet metal worker and was owner and operator of Tubbs and Sons Roofing for 12 years. He loved his cat and watching and feeding his birds. Raymond never met a stranger and was the most loving, generous, and soft hearted husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blum.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Glenda Tubbs of Blum; five children, Ray Tubbs and wife Barbra, Roger Bellinger and wife DeeAnn, and Julie Thomas and husband Terry, all of Blum, Sue Sandefur and husband Robbie of Sand Flat, and David Tubbs of Lompoc, California; 12 grandchildren, Rhonda, Mac, Lorena, Logan, Ty, Lexi, Pam, Liana, David, Joshua, Daina, and Arrianna; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Huffman of Brady; and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Angie Tubbs on August 24, 1989; four sisters; and five brothers.
