A memorial service for Rex Higgins, 75, of Alvarado will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Marty Strayhorn will officiate.
Rex Higgins passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 in Alvarado. He was born Sept. 26, 1940 in Cleburne to Virgil William and Charlotte Montgomery Higgins.
Mr. Higgins started his career as a millwright apprentice at the Santa Fe Railroad shops in Cleburne. He then worked as a millwright for more than 30 years at General Motors in Arlington, and also served there as an apprentice chairman. He was a member of Cleburne Elks Lodge No. 811.
Survivors include his son, Keith Higgins of Arlington; daughters, Rexanne Higgins of Burleson and Holli Wasson of Arlington; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Cameron, and Hanna; brothers, Kenneth Higgins, Roy Higgins, Larry Higgins, and Sonny Higgins; sisters, Margie Miles, Ginny Erwin, and Cheryl Tapleshay; and a number of nieces and nephews.
