Richard Clay

Service for Richard Lee Clay, 64, of Bryan, will be conducted at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Johnathan Halton, Reverend Pauline Lauderdale, Reverend Donald Earl and Elder Timothy Moon will be officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2023 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald McNeil, Jr., James Clifford Jones, Robert Lewis III, Marcus McNeil, Roderick Austin, and Bobby Dale Earl. Honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Burks, Donovan Burks, Robert Clay, Donald McNeil, Sr., William Pollard, Ralph Nix, Jason Tilby, Dimario Mark, and Charles Alexander.

Richard passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 in Bryan. He was born July 27, 1958 in Cleburne to Ira and Ollie McDowell Clay. Richard was a member of Lily of the Valley Church of God in Christ. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1976. He worked as a Manager for Subway with 22 years of service. Richard will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his brother, Bruce Clay of Cleburne; 4 sisters, Gracie McNeil and husband, Donald, Brenda Lewis, Mary Clay, all of Cleburne, and Scottie Gale Nance of Pecos, New Mexico; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gerald Clay.
