Ricky Lee Sanderson, 62, of Alvarado passed away August 14, 2021 in Burleson. His graveside service will be conducted at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday August 25, 2021 at DFW National Cemetery.

He was born December 1, 1958 in El Paso, Texas to R.L. and Margie Ann Allen Sanderson. He was a graduate of Burleson High School in 1977. After high school, Ricky joined the United States Navy and proudly served his country while aboard the USS Bowen FF-1079. After leaving the Navy, Ricky received his CDL and drove trucks for a living. He was a member of Shepherd Valley Cowboy Church and member of the Circuit Riders Motorcycle Club.

Ricky loved reading his bible, attending church and spending time with friends and family. He was always laughing and bringing joy to other kids while he dressed up as Santa Clause during Christmas time. He participated in multiple toy drives while riding his motorcycle. He loved to volunteer and help others. During the summers, you would find Ricky working the vegetable stands in Missouri where he enjoyed being outside.

Ricky is survived by his parents R.L and Margie Sanderson of Alvarado; Sisters, Belinda and Terry Massey of Joshua, Cynthia and Tom Brand of San Saba and Shawna and Kevin Maxwell of Burleson; Daughters Terah Van Zant of Tolar, Krystal and Michael Clayton of Weatherford, 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to include great nieces and nephews also. He was proceeded in death by both sets of grandparents.
