Robert Howell

Service for Robert Howell, 78, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charles Howell, Tommy Doty, Marshall Hicks, Jr., Michael Hicks, Tracy Lyne, and Gilbert "Bubba" Bosworth, Jr. Burial will be in the Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Howell passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 in Rio Vista. He was born March 24, 1932 in Gorman to Loris Lionel and Lizzie Alice Johnson Howell. He married Anna Belle Hicks on April 20, 1951 in Weatherford.

Mr. Howell was a retired carman for the Santa Fe Railroad with 39 years service. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and especially spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.

Robert Howell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna Belle Howell of Rio Vista; son, Gary Howell and wife Jan of Amarillo; daughters, Brenda Howell Jones and husband Steven of Oklahoma City, OK and Kellie Howell Delap and husband Kent of Fort Worth; brother, Wayne Howell and wife Evalene of Rainbow; sister, Helen Fulfer of Princeton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert filled a glowing spot in the world and his absence creates a large void that can only be filled with the wonderful memories that he left behind.
