Mr. Kilpatrick passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006 in Ft. Worth. He was born June 1, 1928 in Cleburne to Robert A. and Jessie M. Fouts Kilpatrick, Sr. He married Nancy Bowen on September 13, 1986 in Cleburne.
Mr. Kilpatrick graduated from Cleburne High School in 1947. He graduated from SMU in 1973 with a major in accounting and a minor in finance. He was employed by the First National Bank of Dallas for twenty three years, retiring on January 31, 1984. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas for 25 years. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church since 1984 and was made a Deacon in 1992. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he received the rank of Sergeant. During his station at Ft. Carson, Colorado, he was instrumental in starting the First Southern Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, where the church is still very active and growing. Mr. Kilpatrick was the past president of the Cleburne Christian Business Club, serving from 1992- 1994, President of the Tentmaker's Bible Fellowship Class and member of the Cleburne Rotary Club.
Robert A. Kilpatrick, Jr. is survived by his wife Nancy Kilpatrick of Cleburne; three sisters, Carol Marie Robinson of Phoenix, Arizona, Evelyn Rivers of Austin, and Kathleen Dodge of Streetman, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
