Services will be held under the tabernacle at Union Hill Church in Joshua, on Friday at 11:00, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery. Brother Wayne Shuffield will officiate.
Robert died at his home in Joshua Tuesday morning after a long illness.A 1963 graduate of Joshua High School, he became a barber and worked at Cleburne Shopping Center. Wheelchair-bound from an accident, he began checking ID cards at Carlswell AFB Commissary in 1967. A checker there for many years, he transferred to General Services Administration and retired in 1994 after 27 years of service. He was "Silver Wheels" on the CB.
Preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Evelyn Lightfoot, older brother, Butch Lightfoot, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Mike Joslin, sister-in-law, Dora Lightfoot, all of Joshua, and many loving and most helpful niecesand nephews including Buzz and Teri Lightfoot, Tracy and Terry Bryant of Blum; Curtis Lightfoot, Scott and Christina Joslin, Chris and Angie Joslin of Cleburne; Cindi Joslin of Benbrook. Great nieces and nephews are Calvin, Paula, Nick, and Chance Lightfoot; Heather and Whitney Bryant; Shelby, Sunni, and Sydney Joslin; John Joslin; and Sky Joslin. Extended family includes Steve Painter of Arlington, Brenda, Monty, Megan, and Marty Boggess of Joshua; Jessie, Becky, Matt, Brittany, Lucas Williamsof Palestine; Stephen Painter of Del City, Oklahoma, James Painter of Forth Worth, Jane Arredondo of Dallas, and great-aunt, Juanita Palmer of Cleburne.
