Robert Savage

Graveside service for Robert “Bob” Savage, 88, of Godley will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the Cresson Cemetery in Cresson, Texas. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the funeral home.

Bob passed away March 9, 2022 in Granbury. He was born February 27, 1934 in Cleburne to Robert Louis and Doris Emmaline Tubbs Savage. Bob married Lucy Joan Hartfield on August 11, 1956 in Godley. He was a member of Godley Church of Christ and served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob was liked by all. He served as former mayor of Godley and school board member. Bob was strong willed and had an independent streak. He began his dairy business in 1978 after retiring from a career as a government meat inspector. Bob enjoyed his local coffee shop and corner post gatherings, as well as watching Gunsmoke any time he could. He will be greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Joan Savage; children, Jill Savage, Kirk Savage and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Jabe Evans, Lucy Martin, Shelby Savage and Kyle Savage; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn and Betty and numerous nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carolyn.
