Roger Abbott

Service for Roger H. Abbott, 90, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 5, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Daniel E. Crosby will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Roger H. Abbott passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born August 18, 1924 in Gainesville to Roger Henry and Mary Louise Nagorka Abbott. He married Mildred Davis on December 22, 1958 in Brownwood.

Mr. Abbott served his country in the United States Merchant Marines during and after WWII. He worked as an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad until retirement. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mildred Abbott; sons, Roger Dale Abbott and wife Kerri, and Mark Abbott and wife Stacy; grandchildren, Eric, Nathan, Jordan, Christian, Henry, and Morgan Abbott; great grandchild, Cayden; sister, Joyce Houck; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lucille Barrett.
