Services for Glenn Richard Whitwell, 79, and Ronda Yvonne Whitwell, 74, both of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 in the Calvary Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Earl Sides and The Reverend Brooks Monk. Interment will follow at 1:30 P.M. in DFW National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Whitwell, David Whitwell, Brian Dotson, Robert Dotson, Blake Dotson and Cody Walker. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mr. and Mrs. Whitwell passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 in Dallas. They were married April 12, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Glenn Richard Whitwell was born April 24, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Orval and Anna Hohl Whitwell. He served two years in the United States Navy and served 24 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Glenn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and attended the Faith Bible Institute.

Ronda Yvonne Whitwell was born December 30, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to James Ogle and Edna Giltner Chostner. She worked as a data input operator for more than 20 years and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she worked tirelessly on the food committee.

Mr. and Mrs. Whitwell were also active in the church as Barnabas Partners and both worked in the Awanas Club with the Youth Department.

Survivors include their son, Steven Whitwell and wife Pamela of Burleson; a daughter, Jean Marie Dotson-Altic and husband Robert, of Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren, Jonathan Whitwell, David Whitwell and wife Kristy, Brian Dotson, Robert Dotson, Blake Dotson, and Janelle Dotson; and several other relatives and friends. Glenn is also survived by a brother, Dale Whitwell and wife Betty of Pflugerville. Mr. Whitwell was preceded in death by his parents and Mrs. Whitwell was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rose Marie Chostner.
