Committal service for Rowena Darlene Hobbs Campbell, 89, of Cleburne, will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 2, 2018 in Greenacres Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, in Field Street Baptist Church with a public reception to follow. Dr. John Hall and the Reverend John Glover will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Rowena Darlene Hobbs Campbell passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 in Cleburne. She was born February 18, 1929 in Joshua to John R. and Ina Gertrude Brawner Hobbs. She married James Buck Campbell on June 2, 1948 in Joshua and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1986.
Mrs. Campbell was an assistant superintendent for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with 38 years of service. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Campbell and wife Cathy and Mike Campbell and wife Saundra, all of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Paxton Campbell and wife Sharon, Brett Campbell, John Michael Campbell and wife Keegan, Kristin Armstrong and husband Danny, and Ashley Cosper and husband Aaron; six great grandchildren, Caden, Slate, Campbell, Gage, Lauchlan, and soon to be born, Addison; and a nephew-in-law, Garland Carroll of Cleburne. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda Gail Guenthner on July 18, 2018; sisters, Flora D. Steed and Oleta Murray; and niece, Helen Carroll.
