Roy Britt

Services for Roy J. Britt, 86, of Mesquite will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, Apr. 10, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in the Georges Creek Cemetery. Her grandsons Gerald, Mark and Terry Webb will officiate. Pallbearers will be Gerald Webb, Mark Webb, Terry Webb, Shane Webb, Jared Webb and Ben Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Toby Webb and Jesse A. Webb.

Mr. Britt was born Sept. 5, 1920 in Memphis, TX. to Alferd Roy and Lois Ada-Ann Rogers Britt. He married Thelma Owen LaFon on July 9, 1938 in Clovis, N.M. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1995. Mr. Britt was a carpenter in the construction industry and a member of the Mesquite Church of Christ.

Roy Britt is survived by his daughter and son in law, Beth and Kenneth Fox of Mesquite, five grandchildren, Gerald, Mark and Terry Webb, Melanie Wright and Dorothy Massey; 12 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four sisters; daughter Ruth Ouidon Britt and his step grandson Kenny Fox.
