Funeral services for Roy B. James, Sr. of Grand Prairie, formerly of Waxahachie, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Crosier-Pearson-Cleburne Funeral Home, 414 N. Main. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. James, 82, a retired maintenance mechanic for Associated Spring for twenty-three years, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at his residence in Grand Prairie. He was born June 2, 1923 in McKinney, Texas, the son of Benonia and Flora (Day) James. He married Archie Mae Patrick, March 11, 1946 in Rockwall County, Texas. He was served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He landed on Normandy Beach on D-Day and fought through France and Germany until the end of the war.
He is survived by his wife, Archie James, of Grand Prairie; daughters, Rebecca Waters, of LagoVista, Texas and Linda Marie James, of Richardson; sons, Roy B. James, Jr. of Richland Hills and Larry James, of Ferris; sisters, Faye Lindamood, of Irving, Mary Frances Samples, also of Irving, Bertha Beck, of Grandview and Elizabeth Todd, of Cleburne; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild
