A visitation for Roy Rhea Giddens, Jr., 82, of Cleburne will be conducted from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, Jan, 31, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at 3:00 P.M., Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. The Reverend John Glover will officiate.
Roy Rhea Giddens, Jr. passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born Nov. 12, 1934 in Dallas to Roy Rhea, Sr. and Ruby Verna Asberry Giddens. He married Judith Ann Moore on Aug. 8, 1959 in Rio Vista.
Mr. Giddens was a veteran Staff Sergeant of the United States Air Force 739th Radar Squadron with nine years of service. He was a scout master with the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the American Legion. He owned and operated Audio Comp Electronics, Inc. from 1981-2005. After retiring, he began working part time in the Johnson County Treasurers Office as Assistant Deputy Treasurer until Dec. 2016. He also served as the Treasurer of the Johnson County Republican Party for many years.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 57 years, Judith Giddens of Cleburne; children, Douglas Giddens and wife Laura of Cleburne, Kathleen Struve and husband Victor of Godley, David Giddens of Rosharon, and Mark Giddens and wife Lynda, of Cleburne; grandchildren, Faith, Whitney, Kasey, Kelsey, Brendan, Tanner, Elias and Noah; sister, Ruthe Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John B. “J.B.” Giddens; and sister, Martha Warren.
