Services for Ruby Jo Hanna Barger, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Don Shipman officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ruby Jo Hanna Barger passed away in her home on Saturday, July 6, 2019. She was born to Joe Hanna and Effie Peugh Hanna on November 26, 1932 in Cleburne. Ruby Jo married Thomas Clayton Barger on January 27, 1951 in Rio Vista. They were blessed with two sons, Brad and Gary. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Cleburne. For the first few years of their marriage, ruby worked at Dickies in Fort Worth while Tom was deployed to Germany during the Korean War. After Tom served his time in the Army, they moved to Cleburne where she became a housewife and mom.
Granny loved her family very much, she always put her family first. She loved getting hugs from her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Those hugs and hearing “I love you” were the highlight of her day. Granny loved to grow plants, read, puzzle books, quilt, make crafts and spend time with her family.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Barger, her parents, grandson Chris Barger and great grandson Christopher Kimbell.
Survivors include her sons: Brad Barger and wife Belinda of Cleburne, Gary Barger and wife Glenda of Cleburne; grandchildren: Brandy Kruse and husband Martin of Cleburne, Shannon Barron and husband Donald of Burleson, Casey Barger of Cleburne, Shelly Warren of Granbury, Jennifer and Windy Wilson of Cleburne; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren with 2 on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and host of other relatives and friends.
