Ruby Ricketts

Graveside service for Ruby Johnson Ricketts, 74, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Brother Roger Noel will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home.

Ruby Johnson Ricketts passed away Thursday, May 8, 2019 in Granbury. She was born April 4, 1945 in Cleburne to C.J. Sr. and Gladys Lucille (Preston) Johnson. Ruby married Melvin L. Ricketts in 1964. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was a homemaker.

Ruby was a Christian of the Baptist faith. Ruby loved everybody and was a sweetheart. Family was Ruby’s life. She was a wonderful and caring mother, especial with her disabled daughter. She was also the best sister and aunt and dearly loved her sisters. Ruby was also an animal lover especially her dogs. Ruby loved to cut up and joke around. Gladiolas were her favorite flower.

Ruby is survived by her daughter Vicki Ricketts of Glen Rose; sister, Brenda Baker of Clearwater, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Elizabeth Sue Riza, brothers, C.J. Johnson, Jr., Richard C. Johnson and Billy E. Johnson.
