Service for Ruel Ray Davis, 87, of Godley, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Lonnie Collier will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Ken Coleman. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ashley Brown, Matthew Darter, James McAnear, Max Savage, Gary Wilson and Charles Ashley. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Ruel Ray Davis passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 in Keene. He was born March 3, 1929 in Kemp, Okla. to Sim Clayton, Sr. and Lillie Mae Morrison Davis. He married Betty Mae Cummings on June 10, 1950 in Borger.
Mr. Davis worked as a machinist with Dowell Oil Tools before retirement and was a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of Godley.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Betty Mae Davis of Godley; son, Doug Davis of Ft. Worth; daughter, Lillian Kaye Collier and husband Lonnie of Godley; four grandchildren, Crystal, Myra, Ashley and Ryan; eight great grandchildren, Tyson, Kennedy, Tristan, River, Jhett, Cade, Gracie and Zade; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Tressie and Ina; and two brothers, Sim, Jr. and R.B.
