Ruth "Dena" Kirksey

Ruth “Dena” Kirksey, 85, of Joshua passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Joshua. She was born April 28, 1938, in Egan, Texas to Henry Williams and Pearl R. (Wendell) Meals. 

Dena enjoyed going on drives to see the wildlife. She loved being outdoors and fishing. Dena was a quiet lady with a free spirit. She was also feisty and strong willed. Dena will be missed by all who knew her.

Dena is survived by her brother, C.A. Meals; nieces and nephews, Teresa Conn, Glenda Stepp, Margaret McCall, Charles Meals, David Meals and wife, Stacia, Louise Lewis, Eddie Tracey, Sam Kimbell, Jimmy Burks; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Dena is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Kirksey; son, Clayton; daughter, Donna and sister, Rosie Kimbell.

Private service will be held at a later date.
