Service for Ruth Johnson Johnston, 83, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and the Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate. Burial will be in Cleburne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donnie Williams, Charles Howell, Caleb Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Jamie Abbott, and Lloyd Basham. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Ruth Johnson Johnston passed away Saturday, July, 30, 2016 in Glen Rose. She was born July 10, 1933 in Silverton to Marion Francis and Mina Mae Thomas McNatt. She married Doyle E. Johnson in May of 1950 in Glen Rose and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1972.
Mrs. Johnston worked in the design department of Walls Industries, retiring with 40 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne.
Survivors include her son, Christopher Johnson and wife Theresa of Cleburne; sister, Eva Johnson of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Erika Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Emily Woods, and Zachary Woods; great grandson, Jaxen Johnson; and niece, Karen Butts and husband Harold of Whitesboro. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Doyle E. “Ricky” Johnson; daughter, Lisa Keri Hall; sisters, Mildred McKeel and Dixie McMahon; and nieces, Vicki Gustky, Amy Abbott, and Laura Pritchard.
