Ruth Ledbetter

Service for Ruth E. Ledbetter, 93, of Joshua, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 9, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Jesse Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at 12:30 P.M. in Burleson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Ledbetter passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Burleson. She was born Feb. 18, 1920 in Corsicana to Willie Pinkney and Mary Ella Goldsmith Willis. She married Drew J. Ledbetter on Sept. 6, 1934 in Cleburne and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Mrs. Ledbetter was self-employed and owned Window Fashions until her retirement. She was a member of the Cleburne BPW for several years and a member of Joshua Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Wayne Ledbetter and Kenneth Dale Ledbetter and wife, Janie, all of Joshua; daughter, Joyce Ann Stephens of Burleson; nine grandchildren that includes her caregiver, Sarah Beth Landau and numerous great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Elizabeth Landau in 1996; and two sons, Bobby Drew Ledbetter in 1937 and Royce Dan Ledbetter in 2005.
