Sammie Smith

Sammie Smith went home to be with her Lord and beloved parents on Friday, March 11, 2005 in Cleburne. She was born August 21, 1939 in Waco to Floyd Dubose and Frances Imogene Gholson Brown. She married David Smith on August 24, 1963 in Waco. She was a homemaker and opened her heart and home to numerous children as a child care provider for over 30 years.
Survivors include the love of her life, husband David Smith, son Michael Smith and wife Rhonda, daughter, Brenda Anderson and husband Dennis all of Cleburne, daughter Linda Bardwell and husband Walter of Brownwood; sister, Bobbie Lyon and husband Mike of Hewitt; mother in law, Johnnie Mae Smith of Red Oak; the apples of her eye-grandchildren, Walter Bardwell and wife Michelle of Watauga, Jennifer Thompson and husband Jamie, Jason Mattison, Courtney and Dustin Smith all of Cleburne and Shannon Bardwell of Brownwood; great grandchildren, Morgan and David Thompson of Cleburne and Tyler Bardwell of Watauga. She was preceded in death by her parents; father in law, Wilson Smith and her first husband Ray Fikes. We'll miss you Granny Nanay!
