Mr. Rawlins passed away Saturday, July 16, 2005 in Cleburne. He was born August 9, 1920 in Sherman, Texas to Zenith Leander and Mattie Olive Bagwell Rawlins. He married Glenna Moore on August 28, 1940 in Oklahoma.
Mr. Rawlins was a retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 37 years of service, where he was a locomotive engineer. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Fireman and Locomotive Engineers, East Henderson Baptist Church and the Ready Sunday School Class.
Samuel D. Rawlins is survived by his wife Glenna Rawlins of Cleburne; three daughters, Brenda Jack and husband Robert of Richardson, Marry Ann Phillips and husband Roger of Euless and Laverne Taylor of Lakeside; brother, Joe Rawlins of Houston; sister, Helen Boyd of Wichita Falls; eight grandchildren and sixteen grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Leo Rawlins.
