Sarah Ruth Sanders Gibson

Sarah Ruth Sanders Gibson, 91, of Cleburne, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Keene. She was born November 6, 1932 to Milton Henry and Rosie (Shoemaker) Sanders. Sarah was of the Baptist faith. She married “Pete” Alfred Adolphus Gibson on February 10, 1950 in Fort Worth. She was headstrong, and a truly feisty lady with an independent streak. Sarah had a sense of humor and loved being outdoors, especially in her yard. She was outgoing and loved to play dominoes with family and friends until her last days. Sarah will be missed by all that knew her. 

Survivors include her children, Shirley Ann Byrd, Debra Ruth Aiken and her husband Bryant, and Jimmy Dean Gibson; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, who passed on April 19, 1986; and siblings, Nora L. Sanders, Milton F. Sanders, Rowena Sanders, Delma R. Sanders, Irving H. Sanders, Myrtis M. Sanders, and John A. Sanders.
