Sarmin Sauza

A Celebration of Life Service for Sarmin Sauza de la Pena, 65, of Keene, will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jose Angel Alcudia officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 1:00-3:00 PM, prior to the service.

Sarmin Sauza de la Pena was born to Josue Jacob Sauza Aranda and Maria del Pilar de la Pena Gonzalez on October 18, 1957 in Monterrey, Mexico. She married the love of her life, who she met on their shared birthday, Daniel Arvizu, in August of 1981 in Mexico. She was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her loved ones, throughout her lifetime. She had an un-wavering faith and was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cleburne. Sarmin believed in living your life to the fullest – and she did just that! There was no obstacle too big to overcome or stand in her way. She was a social lady, enjoying various gatherings with friends and family. She was always ready to go and kept others on their toes. Sarmin was bigger than life in many ways, but especially in her capacity to love and give of her time, resources and heart. It has been said that she was always giving without expecting anything in return. Everyone rejoices in her cooking and baking, especially her breads and tortillas. She made everything from scratch and filled it with love. Sarmin had a great love of children, and they often were the center of her world and activities. Sarmin was an artist. She wrote and recited poetry in a way that captivated her audience. She spent countless hours sewing, knitting and crocheting a variety of projects and clothing or blankets. She was not an idle woman to say the least. Throughout her life, she touched numerous lives and left her mark along the way. Her unstoppable spirit and loving nature will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Sarmin is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Daniel Arvizu; daughters and their husbands, Sara Arvizu Sauza, Sarmin Correa (Adiel Correa); Linda Arvizu Sauza (Luis Carlos Perez Plata); Daniela Arvizu Sauza, and Yamileth Archibald (Fritz Archibald); 8 grandchildren, Gabriela, Gael, Nayeli, Luis Daniel, Alajandro, Elizabeth, Ana and Izaiah; siblings, Josue, Esmira, Santiago, Salomon, Esau, Moises, Samad and Sardis Sauza de la Pena; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
