Scott Longway, 51, of Cleburne, Texas, surrounded by loved ones, went to be with the Lord, his Savior, on 11-15-2021 in Cleburne Texas after a hard fight with covid pneumonia.
Scott was born October 20, 1970, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Ronald Eugene and Carol Jean (Timmerman) Longway.
He attended Lamar High School in Arlington Texas.
He loved his line of work and his many co-workers. Scott worked at the Allred prison as a guard. He was a detention officer with Tarrant County Sherriff’s Dept. He was a detention officer with the ICE facility “Prairieland” in Alvarado and a couple of stints with a federal security firm, guarding Federal inmates that were in hospitals around DFW.
Scott loved to laugh and was a friend to everyone he met. He was known to give the best bear hugs, and for some of his one- liners such as calling many people “kiddo” and was always “100%”! “Throwed off” was one of his favorites. Scott would check on his “Heroes” with a what’s up text. Scott’s biggest smiles came from the times he would talk about his children, his pride and joy.
He is survived by his daughter Courtney Longway, and son Jacob Longway; Sisters- Sandy Gillett, Linda DenBoer, Shari Osborne, husband John Osborne, Debra McEntire, husband Elzie McEntire; Brothers- “Jim” James DenBoer, “Bob” Robert DenBoer; Robbe Cartwright, wife Penny; Ronald Longway II, Rick Longway, wife Julie Longway and many nieces and nephews and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Carol Jean Longway.
Memorial Service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Worth Baptist Church.
