Service for Sheila P. Ward Whites, 79, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 15, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shawn Minor, Todd Sells, Mark Button, Gene Payne, Ted Tommchesson, and Scott Shaha.
Sheila passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Burleson. She was born December 4, 1942, in Cleburne to Welburn Clayton and Dorothy Sheeler Ward. She married Gary Eugene Whites on January 27, 1962, in Cleburne. Sheila was a member of Crestmont Baptist Church in Burleson. She worked as a Training Officer for Empire of America Savings and Loan for many years. Shelia at one time worked in the Burleson Independent School District as a teacher. Shelia was always very involved in Burleson within the community. Shelia Whites was an amazing coach's wife for 53 years who always treated each athlete as her own. Many generations of Football, Baseball and Track and Field athletes were the beneficiaries of her love and kindness.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gary Whites of Burleson; children, Robert Ward Whites of Waco, and Christopher Wade Whites and spouse, Kelly of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Blaze Ward Whites of Dallas, McKenna Ryan Whites of Fort Worth, Hayden Christopher Whites of Fort Worth, and Ryan Harrison Whites of Fort Worth; sister, Glenda Ward Reitzell and spouse, Colonel John Reitzell, USA, Ret., of Huntsville, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews which include, niece, Robyn Reitzell O’Dell and spouse, Brian, and nephew, Mike Reitzell and spouse, Michelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
