Graveside service for Claude E. “Skeet” Patrick, 100, of Grandview, will be conducted at 10:00 AM in the Baker-Lain Cemetery on Thursday, October 13, 2022. A time of visitation will be held for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Skeet was born on September 20, 1922 in Burleson, Texas. He worked for Johnson County, operating heavy machines in the maintenance department until retiring and then did the same for Grandview ISD to later stay busy. On June 17, 1955 in Cleburne, Texas he married Margaret Jean Stevens. They were married 65 years at the time of her passing in 2020. Skeet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grandview. He was a man that everyone loved after just meeting him, truly one of a kind. He was known for his wit, which he had even in his last days. Skeet was the ultimate story-teller. He enjoyed listening to country music – classics, not today’s “country” and was a guitar and keyboard player himself. You could often find him outdoors in his garden, restoring tractors or working on his latest woodworking project. Skeet will be missed greatly and remembered for his love of life and century full of lessons shared with those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Steven Patrick; son in law, Charley Gregory; and siblings, Mozelle Patrick, Geneva Bankston and Vertis Patrick.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Gregory and Vickie King and her husband, J.B.; daughter-in-law, Becky Patrick; adopted daughter and caregiver, Connie Pearson; grandchildren and their spouses, Jason & Brandie, Autumn & James, Angel & Mark, Tyler & Shana, Ryan, and Derek & Heather; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Shelby, Rylee, Logan, Stryker, Cash, Cooper, Emma, Bailey, Alexis, Carter and Bennett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
