Sondra Jones

Services for Sondra Elizabeth Jones, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 8, 2021, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cleburne. Father Sergio Rizo will officiate. A rosary will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. with a visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery.

Sondra passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in Arlington. She was born August 4, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. She married Jess Ray Jones on May 7, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. Sondra was a data processor for JPS and St. Joseph Hospital for over 30 years. She had a playful and feisty nature that kept those around her laughing. The beach was her happy place, especially visiting lighthouses. She was a talented knitter and shared her projects with loved ones. She was young at heart and loved beyond limits. Sondra was outgoing and enjoyed games, reading, traveling and gatherings of all kinds. Her love of life was inspiring and will be missed greatly. Sondra was of the Catholic faith.

Sondra is survived by her children and spouses, Paul Jones and Lisa, Andrew (Andy) Jones and Helene Martin, and Carolyn Poettgen and Joseph; grandchildren, Cristin, Corey, Jessica, Brett, Chad, Elexis, Chaz, Jenna, Ashley and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Avery, Connor, Addison, Emma, Kaiden and Everitt; siblings, Rayme Swedo and Kent McGarry; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, including her beloved dog, Ellie.

She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Swedo; mother, Dorothy Joan Jones McGarry; husband, Jess Ray Jones; children, Larry, Phillip, and Suzann Jones.
