Services for Stanley Harwell, 80 of Crowley, formerly longterm resident of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 4:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Brother Alton Harwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Hutchison, Tony Harwell, Mike Hall, Weldon Harwell, Darrell Hackler and JJ Hutchison. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Hackler and Jason Hackler.
Mr. Harwell passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 in Ft. Worth. He was born May 29, 1928 in Kaufman County to J.W., Sr. and Stella Ann Wiley Harwell. He married Jerline Roane on April 1, 1961. He was a sandblaster for the Santa Fe Railroad and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Burleson.
Mr. Harwell is survived by his wife Jerline Harwell of Crowley; sons, Richard Harwell and wife Kay of Burleson and Jeff Harwell and wife Lisa of Rio Vista; daughter, Melinda Fiscus and husband and honorary son Stephen Fiscus of Crowley; grandchildren, Jason Harwell, Jeremy Harwell, Jennifer Chadwell and husband Jacob, Austin Harwell, Colton Harwell, Michelle Shanor and husband Corey, Angela McCarty , Phylicia McCarty and husband Robbie Pack, Caleb McCarty, Remington Harwell and Cooper Harwell; great grandchildren, Bailey Chadwell, Gracie Chadwell, Corey Pesina and Cameron Pesina; brothers, J.W. Harwell, Jr. and wife Marie of Rio Vista, Bill Harwell of Rio Vista, Kenneth Harwell and wife Wanda of Silsby, Alfred Harwell and wife Carolyn of Rio Vista; sisters, Edna Hackler of Blum, Betty Hall and husband Wayman of Granbury, Nancy Hutchison and husband Hoss of Sudan. He was preceded in death by a grandchild Channa Mae McCarty; sister, Sis and his parents.
The family will be gathering at Mr. Harwell's home, 500 Swope, in Rio Vista, after the service.
