They say the measure of a man comes not from things of this world, but rather their character, heart, love for family, and most of all, their walk and dedication to the Lord. Steve Roberson was as close to perfect, according to the measure of a man. Close to perfect, because he would never want anyone to think of him as such, for him, that description could only be used to describe Jesus.
Steve was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on November 19, 1964. However, he would want everyone to remember that his spiritual birthday was the most important date. Steve graduated from Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School class of 1983. At 16 years of age, Steve found his “other half”, Laura Smith. They shared 38 beautiful years married, July 20, 1985, and 42 together, July 21, 1981. You did not see one without the other. On February 18, 1989, Steve welcomed his first child, Kara, followed closely by his son, Travis on August 28, 1990. His children were his life. After high school, Steve joined the Air Force, where he trained to be a munition expert, in which his love of country was evident. Steve served his country proudly in Desert Storm. When moving back to Tennessee, Steve worked driving trucks for years, and went on to become a supervisor; a true testament to the hard work he instilled in those around him. In March of 2023, he made a leap of faith moving to Cleburne, Texas to work as a logistics manager in support of his son’s dream company. Steve was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Cleburne. For the largest portion of Steve’s adult life, he was an ordained deacon and was proud to have served for so many years within the church and for the Lord. Steve was a devoted and loving husband, a heroic father, doting papa, and devout Christian. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda White; father, James Roberson; mother-in-law Sandra Fowler, as well as his grandparents.
Until we meet again at Jesus’ feet, continuing to live Steve’s legacy are, wife, Laura Lee Roberson; daughter, Kara Ashley Roberson Holden (Ryne); son, Travis Clay Roberson (Shara); and three grandchildren, Andolyn Jordyn Roberson (11), Kimber Skye Roberson (6), and Kai Brantley Holden (4). Steve is also survived by sister, Lisa Lawrence; brother, Brent Roberson; sisters-in-law, Misty, Karen, and Tammy; Father-in-law, Jesse Fowler; as well as many nieces and nephews he loved dearly.
Steve would want all who he has touched, loved, and never had a chance to meet, to know that “God’s been good in his life…”
At this time, the family covets your prayers.
